On Saturday we helped throw a Hawaiian themed party for Ciara's younger sisters birthday. Today we are going to show you some ways to throw your own Hawaiian themed party.
First you need a lot of decorations- the helps make it feel like Hawaii. We bought our from Party City and the Dollar Store. We got many things including huge tiki bar cut outs, Hawaiian flowers and even a piñata! These are really easy to buy and put up around your backyard to help out with the setting. Below are some pictures of the back yard after we hung up all the decorations.
Some activities you can do at a Hawaiian party are play limbo, play ships and sailors (we will have the link below), go on a scavenger hunt, have a dance party to some teen beach movie, go swimming or just hang out!

Now for a DIY you can make, we are gonna show you how to make tissue paper flowers! Super easy yet super cute!
Supplies you will need: - a stencil shaped like a heart - tissue paper - tape Use your stencil to trace the heart shape onto the tissue paper. Make about 12 of these tissue paper hearts. Tape the tissue paper hearts together in layers until it looks like a flower. This part is a bit time consuming but cuter than just making a ball. cut up tiny strands of a different colour tissue paper and tape them going in different directions and then once those are all done just secure the back of the flower with a large piece of tape and you are done!

I woke up at midnight feeling terribly sick. I decided to take the day off school today to try to get better so I can perform in my schools performance of Willy Wonka tomorrow. While I was sitting around drinking a smoothie I decided to give you guys some tips on how to survive a sick day.
1. Take the day off from school because you will probably end up either needing to come home anyways or you won't be paying any attention and you will be cranky all day 2. SLEEP! Your body needs rest to get better 3. Take medicine- this will help you feel a lot better 4. Gargle with either some warm salt water or some Listerine (if you are old enough) 5. Cuddle up in a pile of blankets and watch a movie, Netflix etc. Also some of my favourite things to eat or drink when I am sick are: 1. Tea- my personal favourites are the classic Orange Pekoe black tea, Rooibos, and the Birthday Cake tea from Davids Tea 2. Juice and Smoothies are great options if you are looking for something cold to drink 3. Water, Water and Water- this is so important to drink when you are sick! 4. I like to eat oatmeal for breakfast - today I had the Apples&Cinnamon from Quakers 5. For lunch I enjoy Chicken Soup and a toast with butter 6. Try to eat healthy when you are sick because eating junk just makes you feel gross :( Overall relax and try not to spread the germs. If the cold persist and won't get better, go to the doctors. And remember a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down ;) xoxo ~C Not too long ago we both went on our end of year graduation trip. Although we go to different schools our trips turned out to be at the same place at the same time. We went to Ottawa!!! We saw and did a lot of really cool things including:
- Visiting the National Art Gallery of Canada - Going to the Byward Market - Biking around the Rideau Canal - Going to the Canadian War Museum - Eating out at a lot of different places - Visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier - Getting a tour of Parliment - Going to the Surpreme Court of Canada - Visiting the Diefenbunker - Shopping at the Rideau Centre - Went to mass at Notre Dame Cathedral - Ummm we also went on a haunted tour of the Carleton County Jail (at night, before bed) and we both don't really want to talk about it (super creepy there- we don't recommend it) So as you can see this is a lot to jam into three days! It was a lot of fun and it was really cool when we ran into each other at the On Route pit stop on the way there. I just want to give a brief thanks to BrightSpark and Temple & Temple for helping to make our trips amazing and for putting up with our crazy classes! If you ever find yourself in Canada definitely go explore Ottawa. We also want to hear about any experiences you have in Ottawa or also any post ideas you want to see on the blog - email us at [email protected] |
